DRAW FROM LIFE.
The PAD ZONE is a flexible and fun way to introduce and promote the simple act of drawing from life.
Groups of people sit together with just a pad and pencil and draw another participant.
As the session progresses, individual and group instruction is given by myself in the simple techniques of portrait drawing from life.
As well as touching on why it is important to stop and recognise the uniqueness of another unique and wonderful human being.
Also includes insights into the work of Eckhart Tolle’s thoughts on ‘presence’ and other pointers on work/life/creativity.
I provide the paper, pencils, equipment and guidance needed for a space of any size, to be set up as a mini-art studio.
A fun way to help change the normal routine and improve mental health and wellbeing.
Enables people to stimulate the visual, creative and spatial side to their brains capabilities.
Introduces the idea of breaking ‘incessant thinking’ and gives attention and enjoyment to being in the moment.
Encourages new conversations in an interesting and unique way to enhance team or group cohesion.
Explores creating a new potential skill for life.
THANK YOU.

SOME QUESTIONS ANSWERED
ANSWER:
That tends to rely on how you think your people are handling todays pressures at work or at home? Especially now in these times of dramatic societal change. Anything you can do as a leader that shows your interest in them is serious in terms of mental heath and wellbeing, will be met with reciprocal loyalty.
Team building with go-carts and more physical activities were fine for some at one time, but with a LIFE PAD ZONE you are working with a more cerebral, but still fun, physical activity.
Building new skills, allaying excessive stress build up, exploring creative aptitude and sharing moments with others are just some of the benefits to your employees.
ANSWER:
A PAD Tutor, experienced in simple portraiture techniques and drawing exercises will be provided to supply the encouragement and knowledge to ensure everyone has a rewarding experience.
ANSWER:
Half the battle online today is about being relatable. Posting the results online of a sitting or filmed piece with a sitter, you show just what an innovative and caring company or service you really are. Use it for your own special events and to build a bigger “filmed story” around your people.
Every time a drawing is made you can make an extra post to keep all your connected followers aware of you, in a caring, creative and fun way.
Add your own hashtag #yourcompany or #yourissue along with ours #PADportraits and #PADzone and you’ll get connected to what we hope will become a global community of other caring, fun, creative people.
ANSWER:
For a more permanent LIFE PAD ZONE option, choose a dedicated zone somewhere in your building to house this fun and wellbeing enhancing activity, where company members can visit at certain times to draw and refresh their energy and minds.
For more social uses it could be a reception area, an open plan office space or eating area. For calmer more reflective uses a quieter room should be used, like a study area, outdoor space or presentation area.
ANSWER:
Just add the dedicated seating to your event and watch as all-comers are invited to try their hand at portrait drawing or being a sitter. Here’s some other ideas…
Ask a celebrity guest to sit for a while. Hang all the end results and award prizes for the best or funniest. Add a PAD Artist or caricaturist to draw your guests to smooth the day along.
Exhibition visitors could be invited to sit and chat a while. Art gallery or museum attendees could pick up a pencil and feel truly a part of the show. The best street event or theatrical performance could be enhanced with a mini-art studio added.
What seminar or workshop couldn’t do with some ice-breaking device to get people talking? What would you charge for a portrait at your next fund raising charity event?
ANSWER:
For more permanent options for the LIFE PAD ZONE, forever, or a day! It all depends on your mission and purpose.
Long term users would normally begin with a “Group Portrait Drawing Workshop” to introduce it to the team. Followed by a weekly, monthly or quarterly LIFE PAD ZONE with a PAD Tutor based on how your people want to be supported, or not.
Temporary events and promotions for a set amount of days depend on the amount of people you want to involve to draw, usually a minimum of ten to twenty seats.
ANSWER:
They’ll be thrilled when you ask them to do something a bit out of the ordinary and get back in touch with their inner self or artist. Hotels, pubs and restaurants, (who need some extra special help at this time) can invite customers to either format of LIFE PAD ZONE offered
Either way it creates a fun and memorable ‘mini-spectacle’ during the customer visit. Especially when the results are shared to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook groups. Giving you exposure to all our future ‘worldwide’ followers.
ANSWER:
In the LIFE PAD ZONE anybody connected with your business can be invited to draw or take part. Tutoring and facilitating sessions are offered on an ongoing basis for those wishing to hold a regular event.
